In 2004, Moore became the first African American to be elected to Congress from Wisconsin. She represents the state’s 4th Congressional District, which covers Milwaukee and some adjacent suburbs. Moore serves on the House’s powerful Ways and Means Committee, and she is an active member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, LGBT Equality Caucus, the Great Lakes Caucus, and the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee.
