Evers, a Democrat, is the 46th governor of Wisconsin, defeating incumbent Scott Walker in 2018 and then winning reelection four years later. He announced earlier this year that he will not seek a third term. Prior to becoming governor, he served as Wisconsin’s state superintendent of public schools for eight years.
