Before joining the Cap Times in April, Eilbert covered mental health as a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, where she focused on suicide prevention, access to care, disability rights and more. A particular focus in that work was digital extremism and the rise of school shootings through a fellowship with the Association of Health Care Journalists. Eilbert is also the author of three poetry collections.
