Gothard was named superintedent of the Madison Metropolitican School District in 2024 after leading Saint Paul Public Schools in Minnesota for nearly seven years. Gothard is a Madison native and was a principal and assistant superintendent here before taking his first job as a superintedent in Burnsville, Minnesota in 2013.
