One of the best-known actors of her generation, Alexander is famous for her roles in “The Great White Hope,” “Kramer vs. Kramer,” “All the President’s Men” and more. She was later the chairperson of the National Endowment for the Arts from 1993 to 1997 and has since worked on conservation efforts.
