Glaude is the author of many books about racial dynamics in the U.S., the most recent of which is “America, U.S.A.: How Race Shadows the Nation’s Anniversaries.” He was the inaugural chair of the Princeton Center for African American Studies when it became an academic department in 2015. He stepped down from that role in 2023 but still teaches in that department as well as the university’s Department of Religion.
