Carvajal is the founder and executive director of Wisconsin EcoLatinos, a non-profit organization that strives to assist the Latino community in Wisconsin in combating environmental hazards and advocating for a just and sustainable environment. Carvajal has a background in engineering and is a member of the Sustainable Madison Committee, the Lake Monona Waterfront Ad-hoc Committee and the UW Public Health Institute Advisory Committee.
