Schroeder and her husband, Dean, have been co-owners of the award-winning gift and gourmet shop Orange Tree Imports on Monroe Street since 1975. In addition, Schroeder writes extensively about brick-and-mortar retail. A newly updated and expanded edition of her best-selling handbook, “Specialty Shop Retailing: How You Can Succeed in Today’s Market,” debuted in 2018.
