Mount became smitten with photography after learning to print black and white photographs when she was 10 years old. Since then she has lived in a variety of places, working as a photojournalist, editor and educator. Mount was part of the Washington Post team that won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize in Explanatory Reporting for a groundbreaking series on climate change.
