Garfield graduated from UW-Madison in May 2020 with a degree in journalism and a minor in theatre. She previously worked as the state capitol intern for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and government watchdog reporter for USA TODAY Network-Wisconsin, before landing at the Cap Times to cover Madison and Dane County government.
