Becker founded her own dance company in 1987 after over a decade as a principal dancer. The company received two National Endowment for the Arts awards to bring her dance, “Into Sunlight,” inspired by David Maraniss’ Vietnam War era book “They Marched into Sunlight,” to military centers across the U.S.
